Steve grew up in Cranford, New Jersey, where he played golf for the Cranford High School and was a four-time letter winner. After high school Steve attended the Pennsylvania State University, where he studied professional golf management, and kinesiology. His teaching career began at the Hyatt Hills Junior Golf Camps in Clark, New Jersey. While at Hyatt Hills, he was mentored by PGA Master Professional, and Three time NJPGA Junior Golf Leadership Award winner; Bill Castner. Steve went on to the PGA Learning Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where he had the opportunity to study under the PGA Director of Instruction, Rick Martino, as well as PGA professionals, Mike Peterson, Eric Hogge, and John Borrel.
Steve returned the New York-New Jersey Metro area working at Sleepy Hollow Country Club getting the opportunity to work with Director of Instruction Kevin Sprecher, Head Professional David Young, and former LPGA Tour player Natalie Tucker. After his time at Sleepy Hollow Steve went Century Country Club, where he had a chance to learn from Nelson Long Jr., and C.J. Reeves, both past Metropolitan Section PGA Teacher of the Year award winners. He also had a chance to learn from past Metropolitan Section PGA Player of the Year, and Assistant Player of the Year, Frank Bensel. Steve realized he needed a location to teach year round, so he helped to found GolfTCR- a unique indoor golf center located in Riverdale, New York. There, as the Director of instruction, Steve taught indoor golf lessons in New York all year round with the use of About Golf simulators, K- Vest 3D analysis, Tomi Putting Trainer, and V1 video.
Steve decided to return to New Jersey and continue teaching golf lessons in New Jersey, and he came on board with The Garden State Golf academy. At the Garden State Golf Academy, Steve teaches video golf lessons, with the use of golf simulators to allow him to teach all year round. Steve also uses K-Vest 3d motion analysis, as well as Zelocity Pure Balance force plates for Dynamic Balance to see how students move their weight through shots.
Steve’s desire to increase his knowledge about the golf swing and the game of golf, Steve sought out Joe Daniels of “The Golfing Machine”. He went on to earn the title of Golf Swing Engineering Bachelor (G.S.E.B), and the distinction of being an Authorized Instructor of The Golfing Machine.
Steve is now a Class A PGA Professional, and the Director of Instruction at The Garden State Golf Academy, where he teaches golf lessons in NJ.
